Problem Note 39734: Pie chart legend includes values that are combined into the Other slice for OLAP-based SAS® Web Report Studio reports

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Overview

For OLAP-based reports, if your pie chart combines minimal values into an Other slice, the values included in the Other slice are still visible in the legend. The values are visible so that you can perform actions, such as drill-through, on the values. In the following example, Orion Clothing is included in the Other slice, but it is still visible in the legend so that you have the option to Drill Down on Orion Clothing.

The only indication that a particular value is included in the Other slice is that the associated legend color is not represented in the pie chart.

Excluding Values in the Other Slice from the Legend

You can set a property that prevents values that are included in the Other slice from appearing in the legend. To set this property, make the following changes to the SAS Web Report Studio properties in SAS® Management Console.

  1. On the Plug-ins tab, depending on your version, either navigate to Application Management ► Configuration Manager ► SAS Application Infrastructure ► Web Report Studio.
  2. Right-click and select Properties to open the Web Report Studio 4.x Properties dialog box.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Click Add to open the Define New Property dialog box.
    • For the Property Name, enter .vmwide.sas.graph.piehideothervalues
    • For the Property Value, enter true
  5. Click OK twice to exit both dialog boxes and save the changes.
  6. Restart your Web application server to enforce the new setting.

Note: If you are using SAS Web Report Studio 4.2_M2 or 4.3, click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue that includes the new property.
